What To Consider When Looking For An Air-Conditioner Installer

Whether you choose TRS Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or another air-conditioner installation service, there are certain things you should ensure so that you get the best possible service, including:

Experience

This counts for everything.

We have seen all of the different challenges in our combined 40 years on the job and can develop solutions and strategies that ensure you are getting the best possible air-conditioning installation service.

Safety

It's vital that you only choose an air-conditioning installation service that is properly licensed and insured to carry out the work.

The licensing ensures that the technician installing your A/C service has completed all training to adhere to industry standards, including the safe installation of your service.

Our insurance also means that, in the unlikely event that something goes wrong or there is any damage to your property, you are covered.

Warranty

It is paramount that your air-conditioner comes with a warranty.

All of our products include this assurance in case of premature failure - not that we expect this to be the case.

On top of this, we also offer a one-year warranty on our workmanship.

Air-Conditioning Brands We Can Install

TRS Air Conditioning & Refrigeration installs all major brands of A/C units.

Split System Air Conditioning Installation

Split System A/C consists of an outside unit (which houses the circuit board, the compressor, the heat exchange coil and the propeller) and one or more indoor units, which are located high up on interior walls. The indoor units each contain an evaporator coil and a filter. These are the most economical type of A/C systems to install and run, particularly if you have a smaller home. Each indoor split A/C unit covers a relatively small area (the exact area depends on how powerful the outdoor unit is and how many indoor units it's servicing), so larger rooms may be cooled more effectively with ducted A/C.

The system can be controlled by a wall panel, a handheld controller or via your mobile phone using smart technology. Quiet and efficient, these are a popular choice. The cheapest installation option is what's known as a "back to back" installation, where the outdoor unit is on the other side of the wall to the interior unit. The cost increases as more interior units are added and/or more piping is needed to connect the exterior unit to the interior ones.

Ducted Air Conditioning Installation

A ducted A/C system has an interior and exterior unit, but rather than being mounted on an interior wall, the internal unit is located in the roof space. Ducts carry air to each room in the home, where it emerges through discreet vents located near the ceiling line of each room. The rooms that receive air can be zoned, so cooled air is only directed where it's needed. This helps to keep running costs low, as only those areas of the property being occupied need to be kept cool.

There is a range of ducted units on the market, which means it's possible to get one that will cool (or heat) a larger property. It's important to pick one that's not too big (or small) for your property - variables such as the number of windows (and whether they're double/triple-glazed), the aspect of your windows, the location of the property and the ceiling height will all play a part in determining which unit size is going to be correct. We can assess your property and let you know what unit size is going to provide optimal performance and energy efficiency, given the individual character of your property.

Multi Head Units

Multi-Head Units are a mix of ducted units and individual (split) units, along with an outdoor unit. They can be customised to suit each property, taking into account individual requirements. Multi-Head Units can also be used to add additional A/C capacity to an existing system. If you've had a new room added as an extension, for example, it's possible to fit a suitable interior unit and then connect it to the exterior unit.
